Nautis vs Denovo: starting a business is a different job from running one

Denovo turns one line into a website, brand and ad campaigns. Nautis runs an existing startup's records. See which stage each one suits, with prices.

Summarise

This page means Denovo at denovo.dev, the AI business builder, and not other companies with that name. Its homepage says "Watch AI build your business". You type one line, such as a booking app for dog walkers, and it produces a plan, a site, branding and marketing, then runs campaigns. Its about page calls it the operating system for your business.

Nautis also uses the phrase operating system, for the running of a young company that already has people, investors and bills. The overlap is a business plan and some marketing thinking. Everything about Denovo below comes from its homepage, about page, plans page and consultants page, read in October 2026.

Do you have a business yet?

If you don't, Denovo is much closer to what you need, and Nautis would be mostly empty screens. Its briefing skips any source with no data. A person with an idea and no customers, invoices, team or investors would get very little from it, while still paying $49 a month after the trial.

If you do, the question flips. A startup with a product, a few staff and a seed round in progress doesn't need a generated brand. It needs to know its runway and who owes it an answer. Denovo's pages talk about the journey from idea to paying customers, and investor pipelines aren't listed on the pages we read.

There's one in-between case: a consultant or coach with clients but no website or marketing. Denovo has a page aimed squarely at them, covering about thirty professions, including fractional executives, tax consultants and recruiters. Nautis has a startup focus, so that reader should look at Denovo first.

What Denovo builds from one line

Its about page splits the work into three stages. Create covers the app, website, brand, offer, business model and financial plan. Launch covers customer experience, launch materials, content, campaigns and first outreach. Operate covers finding customers, contacting them, running advertising and following results.

On the plans page that becomes an AI team: Engineering, Sales and Research agents, an Auto mode, a Marketing agent from Launch upward, and a set number of missions running at once. The homepage says the site is wired to Stripe and ready to take payments. You can attach a deck, plan or CV to start, and it states that you keep full ownership and IP of your ideas.

The homepage also states plainly that "income depends on your idea, your market and the work you put in."

Plans, usage and the ad fee

These numbers come from its /subscription page, which is where the site's Pricing link goes. They're US list prices as of October 2026. Usage is expressed in dollars: chat, research, documents and site work draw from the allowance, and top-ups start at $6.16 and don't expire.

Denovo's published monthly plans. Scale's price wasn't shown on the page we read, and the page doesn't mention per-seat charges or annual billing
PlanPrice a monthUsage includedWorth noting
Free$0, no card$2.50See what the AI team would do, with limits
Build$25$25Publishes your site and business documents, with a little marketing
Launch$49$49Marketing agent, 10 cold emails a day, 3 missions at once
Growth$199Unlimited on one workspaceUp to 10 missions at once, videos are pay as you go
ScaleNot shown$950 of agent work a month30 missions at once

Advertising is listed as "budget + 5%" across Google, Meta and LinkedIn. If that means a 5% charge on top of what you spend, a $500 monthly ad budget on Launch would cost about $574 a month: $49 for the plan and $525 for the ads. On the Nautis side, plans run $49, $99 and $129 for 5, 10 and 25 team members, with a 14-day trial and no $0 plan. It has no ad spend line because it doesn't buy ads.

Two very different first weeks

Say you're leaving a job to start a meal-prep service

You have a name, a rough idea of who would buy, and no site. Denovo fits this week. You'd type the idea, read the plan it produces, correct what's wrong, and publish a page that can take orders. The part left to you is checking that the plan and the brand suit your business. Nautis setup accepts a short description if you have no website or deck, but its modules would sit empty.

Say you're a four-person startup with a pilot customer and a pre-seed cheque

You have a site you like. Generating a new one solves nothing. Your week is an investor update, a contract waiting for signature, an expense question and two engineers who need priorities. Nautis fits here: task boards, Docsign, expenses and Startup Health share one workspace, and the Launch plan's 5 seats cover the team. Denovo's outreach could still help you find customers, but it wouldn't hold the rest.

How much runs without you?

Denovo's about page says "Autonomous mode runs outreach, content and ads every day, not just at launch." Its plans page limits cold email and says verified emails only. The pages we read don't spell out which actions wait for your approval, which is a useful question to ask of any agent before you connect an ad account.

The Nautis default is the opposite. Capabilities default to Ask every time, drafts always get a card, and a person approves them, an owner or admin when the request comes from a background agent. That suits a company where an email to the wrong investor would hurt. It would feel slow to someone who wants marketing running by itself tonight. Read our guide to human-in-the-loop agents if you're unsure which you want.

Where Denovo is ahead

  • Speed from nothing. One line to a live site and plan is a shorter path than anything in Nautis, which assumes the company already exists.
  • Reaching customers. Agents send email and run ads for you. Nautis tracks leads and plans posts, but you publish those posts yourself.
  • A lower way in. There's a $0 start with no card, and $25 a month gets a published site.
  • Independent professionals. It speaks directly to consultants and coaches, a group the Nautis startup plans aren't aimed at.
  • Trying several ideas. Businesses are listed as unlimited on paid plans, so testing three concepts doesn't cost three subscriptions.

The case for Nautis, with its gaps

Nautis fits when the business of running the company is the bottleneck. It holds fundraising, finance and people records that Denovo's pages don't list, and its AI Chief of Staff reads them each morning.

It falls short in plain ways. Its guides don't cover building you a website or finding you a customer. It has been public only since July 2026, so independent opinion on it is thin. It isn't an accounting system, and it doesn't move money or file statutory payroll. Someone has to clear the approvals. If you can't yet say who your customer is, it won't tell you, and you'd do better with a builder or simply with ten customer conversations.

The short decision

  1. No company yet, or a solo practice with no web presence: start with Denovo's $0 tier and see whether the generated plan holds up.
  2. A company with staff, but no customers coming in: compare your options for outreach first, since that's the urgent problem. Nautis won't fix it.
  3. A company with staff, customers and investors to answer to: try Nautis's trial, and fill in Startup Health and one round in the first week so the briefing has something to read.

FAQ

Is Nautis vs Denovo a fair comparison?

Only partly, because they serve different stages. Denovo builds a business from an idea, including its site, brand and marketing. Nautis organises a startup that already exists, including its investors, runway and team.

How much does Denovo cost?

Its plans page lists a $0 tier, Build at $25, Launch at $49 and Growth at $199 a month as of October 2026, plus a Scale tier whose price wasn't shown. Top-ups start at $6.16. Ads are listed as your budget plus 5%.

Does Denovo run ads for me?

Its plans page lists ads on Google, Meta and LinkedIn and posts on Instagram and LinkedIn under the Marketing agent, which starts on Launch. Its about page says Autonomous mode runs outreach, content and ads every day. As with any tool that spends money, check how approvals work before connecting an ad budget.

Can Nautis build me a website like Denovo?

No. There's no website builder in the Nautis guides. It has custom forms you can embed in your own site, and it stores your brand kit, but the site itself has to come from elsewhere.

Should a consultant use Denovo or Nautis?

Denovo, in most cases. It has a page for independent professionals and builds the website, brand and marketing they usually lack. Nautis is built for startups with fundraising and team needs, so much of it would sit unused.
